Updated July 2026.
Buffalo Trace is 90 proof / 45% ABV. Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select is 90.4 proof / 45.2% ABV on the current brand pages. A 1.5-ounce pour is 1.13 NIAAA drinks either way at this rounding. They are not the same bourbon. Buffalo Trace is Sazerac Mash Bill #1 in Frankfort. Woodford is Brown-Forman at the Versailles landmark distillery. “Better” is not a TTB score.
Trade copy often prints a Woodford mash of 72% corn / 18% rye / 10% malt; the official whiskey page we use does not treat those percentages as a TTB filing. Related: Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Old Fashioned bourbon.
Two 90-proof-class bourbons
| Buffalo Trace | Woodford Distiller’s Select | |
|---|---|---|
| US proof / ABV | 90 / 45% (brand) | 90.4 / 45.2% (brand) |
| 1.5 oz drinks | 1.13 | 1.13 |
| 750 mL drinks | ~19.0 | ~19.1 |
| Owner / plant | Sazerac / Frankfort | Brown-Forman / Versailles |
| Mash % | Bill #1 unpublished | Trade 72/18/10 |
Four pours are about 4.5 drinks either way. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. Allocation on Buffalo Trace is real; we will not invent a 2026 street price. Pour math: whiskey drinks.
