Updated March 2026.
“Whiskey sommelier” is a job phrase, not a TTB class. There is no federal whiskey-sommelier title. Court of Master Sommeliers is a wine credential. Trade whiskey certificates exist from private schools — we will not invent a 2026 ranking or a salary. Knowing types is labeling, not a diploma. Typical US whiskey is 40%. A 1.5-ounce 40% pour is one drink.
