Buffalo Trace vs Bulleit: What’s the Difference?

Updated March 2026.

Same flagship proof does not mean the same bourbon. Buffalo Trace’s page prints 90 proof (45% ABV) and Mash Bill #1. Bulleit Bourbon is 90 proof / 45% on Beam Distilling / brand pages used in prior rewrites. A 1.5-ounce pour of either is 1.13 NIAAA drinks. They are different companies. This is not a 2022 winner.

Official pages do not print mash-bill percentages for these two flagships. We will not invent one. Related: Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, high-rye bourbon.

A 750 mL 45% bottle is about 19 drinks. Four 90-proof pours are about 4.5 drinks. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. Pour math: whiskey drinks.
