There is no official best tequila under $50. Under fifty dollars is a sticker, not a CRT class. Certified tequila is NOM-006 from Agave tequilana Weber blue variety, bottled at 35–55%. 100% agave vs mixto (≥51%) is the category that matters. Typical US bottles print 40% Casamigos current NOM 1609 / hist. 1416. A 1.5-ounce pour at 40% is one drink.
