There is no official best mixer for red wine. Wine sits under 27 CFR Part 4, not the distilled-spirits classes. Typical US table lots are about 12%. A 5-ounce pour at 12% is one drink. Soda, juice, and brandy in sangria are separate counts; soda is 0%. Sangria is a serve, not a type. Fortified wine is a different bottle.
