Circle K does not stop selling alcohol at one hour nationwide. A licensed Circle K can ring beer, wine, or (where the permit allows) spirits only during that state’s off-sale window, and a city can close the window earlier. There is no Circle K corporate last call that overrides California’s 2:00 a.m. cutoff, Texas’s midnight beer-and-wine cutoff, or Florida’s default midnight–7:00 a.m. blackout.
Competitor FAQs that say “Circle K typically stops at 2:00 a.m.” are repeating the most common state cap, not a brand policy. If two Circle K stores in two states stop at different times, that is the statute.
Updated March 2026. The table is the legal off-premise ceiling for a convenience store in that state. It is not a promise every Circle K is licensed, stocks liquor, or stays open until the statute’s last minute.

Older roundups often list “2:00 a.m. in Arizona, California, Illinois…” as if those were Circle K hours. Some of those states do use a 2:00 a.m. off-sale cap. Others mix bar last-call with package-store law. Illinois hours are a patchwork of state statute plus home-rule cities (Chicago is not the same as a downstate town). Treat any single Illinois hour as unverified until you check the local ordinance. The same warning applies to Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine, and Nebraska figures that circulate without a citation to that state’s ABC code.
A Cobb County store anecdote (6:00 a.m. weekdays, noon Sunday) is one clerk’s POS, not Georgia statewide law. Weekday grocery beer in Georgia is local. Sunday package needs an O.C.G.A. § 3-3-7 referendum.
Nevada is not a 24-hour Circle K guarantee
Nevada does not impose a statewide off-sale curfew the way California does. Local governments set many of the clocks. A Las Vegas Circle K may sell around the clock if the county and the license allow it. A store in another Nevada city may not. “Nevada = 24 hours” is a rule of thumb, not a statute you can wave at a clerk.
What Circle K actually sells
Where licensed, Circle K typically sells beer, flavored malt beverages, hard seltzer, and wine. Distilled spirits depend on the state. Control states and states that keep spirits in package stores will not put a fifth of whiskey next to the fountain drinks. You still must be 21, and the store can refuse a sale. Polar Pop and coffee have nothing to do with the alcohol clock.

How to check the store in front of you
- Read the license posted near the register. It names the permit class (beer/wine vs. general off-sale).
- Ask when the register’s alcohol lockout hits. Many stores cut off 10–15 minutes early.
- Look up the state ABC “hours of sale” page, then the city or county ordinance if you are close to closing time — especially in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and Nevada.
- Do not rely on a blog table from 2023, including older versions of this page, or a “Circle K stops at 2 a.m.” FAQ with no statute.
Sunday, holidays, and dry pockets
Sunday is the day people get surprised. Oklahoma convenience stores may sell beer and wine on Sunday inside the 6:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m. window. Texas Sunday beer and wine cannot start until 10:00 a.m. Kansas Sunday CMB sales exist only in expanded-sales cities and counties, and Easter is a statewide CMB off-premise off day. Colorado sealed sales run 8:00 a.m.–midnight every day including Sunday; the Christmas sealed-sale ban was repealed 2024 (SB24-231). A Circle K may still close — that is chain policy, not the statute. A Circle K on a highway that crosses a county line can change the rules without changing the logo on the canopy. Dry or moist counties still exist. The app saying “open 24 hours” is not an alcohol license.
Holidays follow the state, not a Circle K greeting card. If the statute is silent, the store may still choose to stop selling alcohol early because staffing or a loss-prevention rule says so.
