Updated April 2026
Casamigos Añejo is 100% blue-weber tequila from the Jalisco highlands, bottled at 40% ABV / 80 proof. The current brand tile says aged 12 months in American white oak; 2024 trade copy said 14. We use the live 12-month line and flag the conflict. Current tequila NOM lock is 1609 (1416 is historical). Mezcal is a different SKU. Hub: Casamigos.

What the bottle actually is
Añejo, under NOM-006, rests at least a year in oak of 600 liters or less. Casamigos currently prints 12 months on casamigos.com. The June 2024 catalog said 14. Age statements move; the class does not. 100% agave is a category, not a medal. A 1.5-ounce pour is one standard drink. Compare the unaged sibling on Casamigos Blanco and the line note at reposado vs blanco.
Do not confuse this with Casamigos Mezcal. Mezcal does not carry the tequila NOM. Who bottles it: who makes Casamigos.
Lab notes
Official tile this run: soft caramel and vanilla on the nose; cooked-agave sweetness with a spice-and-barrel-oak mid-palate; a long, even finish. We rewrote that instead of quoting the Clooney-Gerber origin paragraph. Color is a rich caramel — oak plus time, not a caramel additive we will invent. Highland red-clay talk is brand terroir language, not a CRT chemical assay.
Neat or a single cube. An Añejo Old Fashioned will bury the agave if you over-sugar it. Four pours are four drinks. Related: Casamigos vs Don Julio · vs Patrón · tequila hub.
