Updated July 2026.
Pink Whitney is pink-lemonade-flavored vodka bottled at 30% ABV (60 proof). Virginia ABC lists New Amsterdam Pink Whitney at 30.0% / 60.0. A US 1.5-ounce shot is 0.75 standard drinks — three-quarters of an 80-proof vodka shot. Four Pink Whitney shots are about three standard drinks. A 750 mL bottle holds about 17 volume shots and about 13 standard drinks. That is label math, not a drunk-at-N recipe.
Competitors that print “you will be drunk at 4–6 shots” or “about 6 shots” are writing a challenge. Weight, food, time, and tolerance decide impairment. This page will not.
Pink Whitney vs regular vodka
US standard drink = 14 grams (0.6 fl oz) of pure alcohol (NIAAA, December 2025). Formula: (fluid ounces × ABV) ÷ 0.6. Thirty percent is also the TTB flavored-spirits floor (27 CFR 5.151). Pink Whitney sits on that floor, not in the 40% vodka square (27 CFR 5.142).
| Pour | Pink Whitney 30% ABV | Standard vodka 40% ABV |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5 oz shot | 0.75 std drinks | 1.00 std drink |
| Pours ≈ 4 std drinks | ~5.3 shots | 4 shots |
| 50 mL mini | ~0.85 std drinks | ~1.13 |
| 750 mL fifth | ~12.7 std drinks | ~16.9 |
| 1.75 L handle | ~29.6 std drinks | ~39.5 |
New Amsterdam (Sazerac) makes it. The flavor exists because Ryan Whitney of the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast talked about mixing New Amsterdam with pink lemonade; the brand turned that into a SKU. The color does not make it “light.” Thirty percent is still distilled spirits. If you find a variant with a different proof, use that label.
Why lemonade vodka sneaks up
It tastes like a cooler. People sip it on ice, top it with soda, or pour it from a 1.75 L handle at a tailgate without counting ounces. A 6-ounce pour of Pink Whitney is three shots by volume and 2.25 standard drinks. Two of those is already a binge-level dose for many drinkers before anyone ordered a beer. NIAAA’s binge pattern is 4 standard drinks (women) or 5 (men) in about two hours. That is a warning, not a Pink Whitney flight.
Do not drive on a “it’s only 60 proof” theory. 0.08% BAC (0.05% in Utah) does not care that the vodka is pink. For the 40% baseline see how many shots of vodka. For another sweet, lower-proof spirit, see Malibu. Bottle yield is at shots in a 750ml bottle.
How people actually drink it
- Chilled from the freezer (it will get viscous; it will not become “weak”).
- On ice, sometimes with club soda or more lemonade — extra liquid, same alcohol if the vodka ounces stay the same. See what to mix with Pink Whitney.
- In a slush mix. Frozen drinks hide pour size. Measure the vodka before it hits the blender.
Mini 10-packs of 50 mL plastic bottles are a little more than one 1.5-ounce shot each. Ten minis are not ten “small” drinks; they are about 8.5 standard drinks of Pink Whitney.
What not to do with this table
- Do not chug to the “5.3 shots = 4 drinks” line as a game.
- Do not mix with other spirits and then count only the pink shots.
- Do not assume hockey fandom is a liver plan.
If the honest goal is not to overshoot, stop at a drink or two, eat, and use a ride you are not driving. Sweet flavored vodka is still vodka. It also still tastes like pink lemonadetaste notes live on their own page.
Handles, punch bowls, and the 1.75 L trap
Pink Whitney is often bought as a handle because it is a party flavor. A 1.75 L handle is about 39.5 volume shots and about 30 standard drinks. That is not “a little vodka for the cooler.” If ten people share the handle evenly, that is three standard drinks each before any beer. Add a 12-pack of 5% seltzer and the table is a binge-pattern night for anyone who kept pace. Split the handle with a measuring cup if you actually want to know.
Freezer-cold Pink Whitney still has 30% ABV. Cold dulls burn, not dose. Lemonade mixers add volume and sugar, not a reverse-proofing effect. If you came from the 80-proof vodka page, multiply those shot counts by 0.75 to compare ethanol, or just count standard drinks and ignore the color.
