Costco does not distill Kirkland Signature bourbon. The Small Batch, Bottled-in-Bond, and Single Barrel expressions that print Barton 1792 Master Distillers on the front are contract bourbon from Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky — a Sazerac company. A newer 1.75 L “Kentucky Straight Bourbon” SKU names DC Flynt MW Domaines & Estates, Columbia, Tennessee as bottler and Bardstown as the distill/age place without naming the DSP. Read the bottle in the cart. SKUs change.
This is not Buffalo Trace in a Kirkland dress. Sazerac also owns Buffalo Trace; that does not make Kirkland Small Batch a Buffalo Trace dump. Older reporting (PUNCH / TTB reads) described earlier Kirkland bourbons from Jim Beam and then George Dickel. A 2017 label is not a 2026 label.

Bourbon identity is still TTB: ≥51% corn, new charred oak, ≥40% ABV. Bonded is the 1897 Act. A 1 L at 46% is about 25.4 ounces — do the drink math from the proof, not from the Kirkland logo. How to verify in 30 seconds
- Front label: does it say Barton 1792 Master Distillers?
- Back label: distiller, bottler, and importer lines (TTB requires them).
- If it says DC Flynt and Bardstown without a DSP name, stop guessing.
- Proof and age statement beat a Reddit mash-bill rumor.
