Tequila at Costco: Kirkland NOM and Proof

Updated April 2026.

There is no official “best Costco tequila.” The warehouse mixes Kirkland private-label lots with national SKUs. Typical US cores are 40% ABV — one NIAAA drink per 1.5 ounces, read the neck. Current documented Kirkland tequila production is NOM 1173; older lots have been reported as 1142 and 1472. Say both. Casamigos current NOM is 1609 (historical 1416). 818 is 1607. Clase Azul tequila is 1595.

A 750 mL 40% bottle is about 17 drinks; a 1.75 L is about 39. Additive-free is not a CRT class. Pour math: tequila drinks.
