Updated April 2026.
Blended whiskey is a TTB type, not a quality score. Under it is a mixture of whiskeys, or whiskey plus neutral spirits, that still meets the whisky rules. Johnnie Walker Black Label US prints 40%. Jameson Original is 40% on the Pernod nutrition tile. A 1.5-ounce pour at 40% is one NIAAA drink. Scotch blends, Irish blends, and US blends are different files. “Double malt” on Double Black is marketing, not a legal type.
