Best Alcohol to Mix With Coke

Updated March 2026.

Cola is 0.0% ABV — every standard drink in a Coke highball comes from the spirit. The IBA Cuba Libre is 50 ml white rum, 120 ml cola, and 10 ml lime (about 1.13 drinks at 40%). A US 1.5-ounce 40% pour in cola is one drink. Jack and Coke is a house highball, not an IBA card. This is not a 2023 ranking.

Whiskey, bourbon, and dark rum at the same proof deliver the same ethanol. Hours to buy the bottle are state law. Related: rum and Coke, whiskey mixers, Captain vs Bacardi.
