Best Everyday Bourbon

Updated April 2026.

“Everyday bourbon” is store English for a bottle you can find again next week. It is still bourbon under ≥51% corn, new charred oak, ≥80 proof. Jim Beam White is 80 proof / 40% ABV. Buffalo Trace’s flagship is 90 proof / 45%. A 1.5-ounce White pour is one NIAAA drink; a Trace pour is 1.13. This is not a 2022 top-ten tasting.

Allocation unicorns fail the “everyday” test because they are not on the shelf. Related: Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, bottom-shelf.
