Updated July 2026.
Jim Beam White Label is 80 proof / 40% ABV. Maker’s Mark is 90 proof / 45% ABV. A 1.5-ounce Beam pour is one NIAAA drink; the same pour of Maker’s is 1.13. They are both Kentucky straight bourbon under Suntory Global Spirits — different distilleries, different mash. Maker’s is wheated (wheat instead of rye). Beam’s official pages do not print a mash-bill percentage; we will not invent 77/13/10. “Battle” is not a TTB score.
Beam White copy says four years. Maker’s flagship is NAS. Related: Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Beam proof.
Proof is the measurable difference
| Jim Beam White | Maker’s Mark | |
|---|---|---|
| US proof / ABV | 80 / 40% | 90 / 45% |
| 1.5 oz drinks | 1.00 | 1.13 |
| 750 mL drinks | ~16.9 | ~19.0 |
| Flavoring grain | Rye (percent not on official pages) | Wheat |
| Plant | Clermont | Loretto |
Four Beam pours are four drinks. Four Maker’s pours are 4.5. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. No 2026 MSRP. Pour math: whiskey drinks.
