Nikka Coffey Grain is a Japanese grain whisky run through Coffey stills, bottled at 45% ABV / 90 proof on the current US brand tile (nikkawhiskyusa.com this run). The June 2024 catalog printed 40%. We are not keeping the stale 40. Corn-forward grain whisky, not a malt, not a Scotch. Behind the US 750 mL is Nikka’s Coffey-still grain.

What the bottle actually is
Aeneas Coffey’s continuous still is the namesake, not a flavor. Nikka imported Coffey stills in the 1960s for grain whisky that usually disappears into blends; this SKU bottles that grain on its own. Official US page this run: 45% ABV | 750 mL. A 1.5-ounce pour at 45% is 1.13 standard drinks.
Conservative line in the glass: if you find an older import neck at 40%, believe the neck, not this paragraph. We flagged the catalog conflict and used the live US tile.
Lab notes
Official tasting, rewritten: tropical fruit, coconut, and banana on the nose; a soft, sweet palate with vanilla-wafer; a short honeyed-citrus finish. That matches both the US page and the 2024 catalog notes — the notes traveled with the liquid; the ABV on the scrape did not.
