Updated March 2026.
Jameson Original — the green-bottle Irish whiskey — is 40% ABV / 80 proof on the brand’s US nutrition page, and so are Black Barrel, Crested, Caskmates, Triple Triple, and Jameson 18. A 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. Irish Distillers (Pernod Ricard) triple-distills the blend of pot-still and grain whiskey at Midleton, County Cork. Proof is twice ABV on a US labelwhiskey proof.
Cask-strength and flavored SKUs are not 80 proof. Bow Street 18 is listed at 55.3% ABV on that same nutrition page. Jameson Distiller’s Batch, a single pot still bottled at 46% / 92 proof, reached US shelves in 2026 (Forbes, 11 August 2026). Orange and Cold Brew launched at 30% ABV in brand/Pernod press — flavored whiskey, not the Original math. Read the neck.
