There is no official best wine for sangria. Sangria is a serve: table wine plus fruit, sometimes a brandy splash. Typical US table lots sit near 12%. Brandy is a US type.145 — typical US 40% — a different class if you add it. Fortified wine is another bottle. Do not invent a ranking or a leftover-alcohol number. Read the neck.
