What Is the Best Whiskey in the World?

Updated April 2026.

There is no official best whiskey in the world. Whiskey is a family of legal types: bourbon, rye, Scotch, Irish, Tennessee. Awards and lists are not TTB classes. A 1.5-ounce pour at 40% is one NIAAA drink. 100 proof is not bottled-in-bond. No 2026 ranking or MSRP.
