Updated August 2026.
New Amsterdam Original is 80 proof / 40% ABV on the official brand page (newamsterdamvodka.com/products — “80 PF”). A 1.5 oz pour is 1.00 NIAAA standard drink. Flavored SKUs we could confirm at a state ABC this run — Lemon and Peach — are 70 proof / 35% ABV. Other flavors on the brand lineup did not print a number on the tile; read the neck. No invented ranking.
Official lineup language this fetch: 5× distilled, 3× filtered, American-distilled, select grains. That is the brand’s process line, not a tasting crown. 27 CFR 5.142: if the bottle is labeled vodka in the US, it is bottled at not less than 40%. Flavored spirits (5.151) may sit as low as 30%. Pink Whitney is a separate New Amsterdam pink-lemonade SKU at 30% — see Pink Whitney alcohol content, not this Original tile.
What it is / ABV / origin
| SKU | ABV | Proof | Source this run |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original (“80 PF”) | 40% | 80 | newamsterdamvodka.com/products |
| Lemon flavored | 35% | 70 | NC ABC item listing |
| Peach flavored | 35% | 70 | NC ABC item listing |
| Other brand flavors (apple, coconut, grapefruit, tangerine, raspberry, red berry, watermelon, mango, passionfruit, pineapple, vanilla, etc.) | Read the neck | Read the neck | Brand flavor index; no ABV on those tiles this fetch |
| Pink Whitney | 30% | 60 | Existing 2026 sister page / prior ABC tiles — confirm the bottle |
The old 2021 URL printed Original at “47 percent.” That conflicts with the live 80 PF tile. Unused. The same old table mixed 80-proof Original with 70-proof flavors and a 100-proof SKU we did not see on the current products page. If a 100-proof New Amsterdam bottle is in your hand, count 50% ABV (1.25 drinks per 1.5 oz). We will not invent that SKU back onto the 2026 lineup. Origin on historical labels is Modesto, California (New Amsterdam Spirits Company / E. & J. Gallo). Proof language: what is vodka proof.
Pour math
| Pour | mL (approx.) | ABV | Std drinks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5 oz Original | 44 | 40% | 1.00 |
| 2 oz Original | 59 | 40% | 1.33 |
| 1.5 oz Lemon or Peach (35%) | 44 | 35% | 0.88 |
| 1.5 oz Pink Whitney (30%) | 44 | 30% | 0.75 |
| 750 mL Original | 750 | 40% | ~16.9 |
| 1.75 L Original | 1750 | 40% | ~39.5 |
Standard drinks = (fl oz × ABV) ÷ 0.6. NIAAA: 1.5 oz of 40% spirits = 1 drink. A pint-glass “vodka soda” with a 2 oz free-pour is 1.33 drinks before the soda. See how many mL is a shot. Math, not a challenge. Four 1.5 oz Original pours are 4.00 drinks — NIAAA’s binge pattern (4 drinks women / 5 men in about two hours) is a warning, not a mixer recipe.
How people actually drink it
Official brand mixer cards this fetch stay simple: raspberry-and-soda is 1½ oz flavor + 3 oz soda. A Cosmo card uses 1½ oz Original plus triple sec, lime, and cranberry — count the vodka as 1.00 drink and do not ignore the triple sec. Club soda, juice, or ginger beer is not a deduction. Unopened vodka is a quality problem, not a USDA leftover clock; how long vodka lasts.
Pink lemonade shots are not Original. If that is the bottle, use what to mix with Pink Whitney and is Pink Whitney gluten-free.
Flavored class, not a second Original
A 70-proof peach or lemon bottle is flavored spirits (27 CFR 5.151), not 80-proof vodka with fruit perfume. The brand flavor index this run lists more SKUs than we have ABC numbers for. Conservative line: Original is 40%; Lemon and Peach are 35% on NC ABC; everything else is a neck read. Do not scale a Cosmo or a “crew” pitcher as one drink. If the flavor tile later prints a proof, use that number — we will not invent one here.
What we will not print
No “fastest-growing brand” case-sales crown. No $9.97–$19.99 size chart. No Tanqueray / Belvedere / Oui / Absolut price comparison. No “47% Original.” No Deep Eddy “95 percent” typo from the old alternatives block. No daily “safe ounces” health tip. No shop overlay. Flavored ABVs we did not fetch stay off the number column.
