Updated May 2026.
Pink Whitney is 30% alcohol by volume — 60 proof. It is New Amsterdam’s pink-lemonade flavored vodka (E. & J. Gallo). Unflavored New Amsterdam is 40% ABV (80 proof). Pink Whitney is not “the same strength as vodka.” A 1.5-ounce shot is about 0.75 US standard drinks (NIAAA: 1.5 oz of 40% = 1.00 drink; 30/40 = 0.75).
Virginia ABC and LCBO both list the SKU at 30.0% ABV / 60 proof. Walmart’s product tile prints 30% / 60 proof. Gallo’s portfolio page describes the flavor, not a lab PDF. Read the bottle in your hand — flavored SKUs can differ by market.
Pink Whitney vs a real vodka shot
| Bottle | ABV | Proof | 1.5 oz as std drinks | Shots to equal one 80-proof shot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unflavored New Amsterdam / most US vodka | 40% | 80 | 1.00 | 1.0 |
| Pink Whitney | 30% | 60 | 0.75 | 1.33 |
| Four Pink Whitney shots | 30% | 60 | 3.00 | — |
| Five Pink Whitney shots | 30% | 60 | 3.75 | — |
It tastes like lemonade. That is the trap. Sugar does not cancel ethanol. NIAAA’s binge pattern is four drinks in about two hours for women, five for men — that is about 5–6 Pink Whitney shots for the female line and about 7 for the male line if the pour is 1.5 ounces. That is a health definition, not a target. See how many shots of Pink Whitney to get drunk and vodka shots.
TTB lets flavored vodka sit below 40% ABV. Unflavored vodka cannot (27 CFR 5.142). Pink Whitney is a flavored specialty. A 750 mL at 30% is about 16.9 US 1.5-ounce pours and about 12.7 standard drinks. A 1.75 L handle is about 39.5 pours and about 29.6 standard drinks.
Calories are not published as a 2026 Gallo nutrition panel we could fetch. Flavored vodka has sugar; it is not a 64-kcal-per-ounce 80-proof spirit. Do not invent a calorie count. Do not drive.
