Patrón Tequila: Proof, Types, and Buying Guide

Updated July 2026.

Patrón Silver is 40% ABV / 80 proof — the brand product page and FAQ say every core bottle is 40% / 80 proof, about 98 kcal per 44 mL serving. A 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. It is 100% blue Weber agave blanco from Hacienda Patrón, Jalisco — not a mixto. Reposado and Añejo are age stories (reposado ≥2 months under CRT), not higher proof.

We will not reprint a 2021 price list. Street 750 mL Silver tags sit well above grocery mixtos. That is brand and 100% agave, not extra ethanol. Compare Jose Cuervo and tequila types. Shots: tequila drinks.

Silver vs rested, same proof

A 1.75 L 40% handle is about 39.5 standard drinks. Four Silver pours are four drinks. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. CRT 35–55% band; most US bottles 40%. NOM is on the label.
