Spumante vs Brut: What’s the Difference?

Spumante is Italian sparkling-pressure talk. Brut is a sweetness word. They are not a pair of grapes and not a 2026 ranking. Spumante means fully sparkling under Italian labeling. Brut is a residual-sugar band on sparkling labels, the printed word. Typical US table lots sit near 12–14% Champagne and Prosecco are appellation talk, not synonyms for either word. No winner.
