Updated August 2026.
Reposado is a CRT age class: tequila rested at least two months in oak or encino. It sits between blanco (unaged or briefly rested) and añejo (at least one year in casks ≤600 L). Tequila is 35–55% ABV; most US reposados print 40%, so a 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. Color is not a proof grade. This is not a ranking.
100% agave vs mixto is a separate label line. Related: reposado vs blanco, reposado vs añejo, best reposado, tequila types.
NOM-006 age categories in one table

|---|---|---|
| Blanco / plata | None required (or brief rest) | Often 40% |
| Joven / oro | Blend or color — read the label | Label |
| Reposado | ≥2 months | Often 40% |
| Añejo | ≥1 year; ≤600 L | Often 40% |
| Extra añejo | ≥3 years; ≤600 L | Often 40% |
A 750 mL 40% reposado is about 17 drinks. Four pours are four drinks. IBA Margarita does not require reposado; IBA Tommy’s does. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. Additive-free is not a CRT class. Pour math: tequila drinks.
